What is Pilates?

Pilates is a method of exercise and movement designed to stretch, strengthen, and balance the body. It is a full-body system of specific sequenced exercises performed on a mat and specially designed equipment.

Pilates realigns and reeducates the body. With practice of specific exercises, along with focused breathing patterns, Pilates has proven itself invaluable, not only as a fitness endeavor, but as an important cross training method to professional sports training, and physical rehabilitation of all kinds. Mostly, Pilates teaches balance, and coordination of the body, which will spill into all aspects of one’s life.

“Movement should be approached like life-with enthusiasm, joy, and gratitude-for movement is life, and life is movement, and we get out of it what we put into it.”
